I loved the book! It tells an amazing story of brave people, yet real people and a realistic argument, almost non-fictional. And that’s what I liked most about the book: the truth in it, the small details, the specific descriptions and the simple write which make the intrigue so vivid and genuine.

ResponderEliminarThis is definitely a great novel. The language used is simple which gives a lot of value to such a book by making it plain and still of great literary quality. It appears to be very personal for it depicts this war from the perspective of someone who is obviously in favor of the republican side of the confrontation.
The whole plot takes only three days, which might have made the book slightly boring. Such thing doesn’t happen as the author makes it to keep the story very alive and vivid. Also, the characters are very human and the action is, most of the time, told through their words and thoughts.
This is a good book for anyone to read. You might like it for it’s characteristics as an action novel but also for its historic features. It’s a book about the Spanish civil war, the heroism of the people involved in it and the horrors they went through.

ResponderEliminarI’ve enjoyed reading this book, it’s very well written. The story seem’s to be based in real life experiences, it’s bery real and i like it because i don’t like fiction books. I think that a lot of people doesn’t realize how hard was the spanish civil war, and this book describes it very well. My favourite character is Robert Jordan, but i remember one thing that Pilar, Pablos woman, said when Robert Jordan questions her true abilities: "Because thou art a miracle of deafness... It is not that thou art stupid. Thou art simply deaf. One who is deaf cannot hear music. Neither can he hear the radio. So he might say, never having heard them, that such things do not exist.” It is a very interesting phrase.
I would recommend this book to people who like war’s and people who likes to understand how was the history of the world, and in this case, the spanish civil war...
